Welcome to IT Services

The Information & Communications Technology Department manages the University's IT infrastructure and offers a range of services to assist members of staff and students. The network connects virtually all FNU campuses; offices, laboratories and buildings that are located in wider Fiji. The intranet/extranet network allows users to access detailed information and online material including Library online periodicals and electronic Student Resources. IT Services is also responsible for the providing, maintaining and developing of a wide range of computing facilities for the staff and students of the University.
- - University core systems and servers including the administrative systems, enterprise-wide messaging service and Web servers
- - High-speed campus-wide network and links to the external network.
- - Desktop computing and local systems support
- - Telephone system and voice mail systems
- - Co-ordination of IT-related projects around the University
Services Provided By the ICT Section
Emails
ICT provides email facilities for staff and students. Staff emails are hosted inhouse on exchange 2010 versatile platform while student email is hosted with google's Google App for Education. To access emails please click on the respective links available to you in the "Quick Links".
Class Share
University student are provided with class shares for respective colleges. These contain study materials that are uploaded by the lecturers. To access the class shares, click on class shares in the "Quick Links"
Internet
The internet is provided the University ICT which is available to both student and staff. There are some restrictions in place to control the contents of the internet that is being browsed. The Internet service is available 24 hrs
Moodle
Moodle is another one of the inclusions in the list of services this year. Moodle provides the users with interactive communication with student & Teachers. This also includes peer to peer chat, messaging, blogging and forums. These are all available once you are enrolled into moodle.

Labs
University ICT also maintains the facilities in the ICT Labs that are available throughout the FNU Campuses. The labs are equipped with a computer set which has the necessary application software's which are necessary for all basic student needs while special application labs are available in the respective campuses.
